McLane Middleton attorney John E. Rich, Jr. will be presenting at the 39th Annual Tax Forum co-presented by the NH Bar Association and the NH Society of CPAs.
The program will be held in two parts on two different mornings: Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and Friday, November 19, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. John will be presenting on the “Federal and State Tax update” on November 18 from 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
The objective of this session will be to highlight the major Federal and State tax changes most affecting clients. The panel will discuss new federal tax legislation being considered by Congress. Other issues scheduled to be discussed will include: Impacts of ARPA, CARES, and CAA legislation on 2021 Tax Planning & Filings; State and local tax matters: Selected NH and MA Tax Developments; Wayfair and Other Sales/Use Tax Updates; Pass-Through Entity Tax Developments; and Retirement and Benefit Plan Update.
John will also serve as moderator for the two-day program.
John is a director and chair of McLane Middleton’s Tax Department. John advises clients regarding compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, COBRA, HIPAA and other complex federal laws applicable to employee benefit plans. He frequently represents clients before the IRS and United States Department of Labor in audits and investigations and represents clients in litigation involving employee benefit plans. John provides advice to employers regarding all forms of executive compensation and health and welfare plans. John also advises executives concerning stock options, compensation issues and estate planning involving IRAs and retirement benefits.
