In its Global Symposium, The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) are teaming up to bring together school leaders, educators, and experts to explore emerging best practices in an increasingly global learning environment.
David is Co-Chair of McLane’s Education Group and advisor to many of the country’s top independent and boarding schools. David will be presenting in two sessions. In a pre-symposium session about identifying and managing the risks inherent in international student programs, David will be joined by John Creeden, Ph.D., President of School Year Abroad, Nelson Chase, Executive Director of School Year Abroad, MA, David Miller, Director of Global Studies at Deerfield Academy, and Bill Frederick, Founder and Principal of Lodestone Safety International. In a concurrent session, David will join Melissa Mischke, Dean of Students at Phillips Exeter Academy in a workshop on Boundaries Guidelines For Global Educational Settings.
About David Wolowitz
David has been a practicing attorney for 38years, and is recognized as a leading authority on student and campus safety, risk management and crisis response for independent and boarding schools. His background and experience in key legal areas, including employment, mental health, contract, criminal, fiduciary and tort law, enables him to provide practical and useful advice to his clients, which range from small, local independent day schools to some of the country’s most prestigious private boarding schools. He advises his clients on all aspects of legal issues, risk management and crisis response, working closely with heads of school, deans, financial officers, trustees, health providers and others. David received his J.D. from the University of Michigan, his M.A. from Harvard University and his B.A. from Washington University. He is admitted to practice in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, U.S. District Court for New Hampshire, U.S. District Court for Massachusetts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, Fellow, New Hampshire Bar Association. He has been invited to be a guest faculty for the Trial Advocacy Workshop at Harvard Law School for 29 years.
