On May 6, the law firm of McLane, Graf, Raulerson and Middleton Professional Association, McLane GPS and Business Forward hosted a White House Business Council roundtable with President Obama’s Special Assistant for Energy and Climate Change.
The roundtable discussion provided an opportunity for business leaders from across New Hampshire to directly advise the Obama administration on how climate change and climate change policy impact their businesses and markets. This discussion was particularly timely, given yesterday’s release of the National Climate Assessment, which reports on the dramatic impacts of climate change.
“Climate change affects all of us,” said Richard Sigel, senior advisor with McLane GPS. “New Hampshire businesses are feeling the impact of climate change and related policies every day. We were pleased to host this important discussion and provide a forum for the White House to hear directly from New Hampshire businesses.”
The roundtable brought together a cross-section of business voices, including the energy and renewable sector, high tech, manufacturing, higher education, real estate, finance, tourism and agriculture to meet with Mr. Dan Utech, Director for Energy and Climate Change at the White House Domestic Policy Council.
As the President’s advisor on energy and climate change, Mr. Utech coordinates policy development on these issues across the administration and has been a key player on many of the President’s top energy and climate priorities.
