Catherine D. Allard and Anikό Bouley took part in a panel discussion at Middlesex Community College’s Paralegal Career and Networking Night on October 26, 2016.
As part of the event aimed at helping new and current students understand career opportunities available to them with a paralegal degree, the panel discussed:
- Rewards and challenges of being a paralegal
- Day-to-day responsibilities
- Examples of complex legal issues they have worked on
- Advice for students considering a career as a paralegal
Cathy is a member of McLane Middleton’s trust and estate department. She assists attorneys and client in a variety of matters with an emphasis in trust administration and funding, probate administration and related estate tax returns. Cathy served as President and Chairman of the Paralegal Association of New Hampshire from 2011 to 2016 and currently serves as Primary Liaison to the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA). She is also the current CLE Co-Coordinator, serves on the Budget Committee, and is a member of NFPA. Cathy also serves as a Notary Public for the State of New Hampshire. As the firm’s Corporate Paralegal, Anikó works directly with corporate clients and the firm’s directors. She focuses on all aspects of corporate business law with emphasis on entity formations, organizations, administrations, corporate governance, and transactions. Anikó became a nationally Certified Paralegal in 2007, and in 2010 she completed the National Association of Legal Assistants & Paralegals (NALA) Advanced Paralegal Certification Program in Business Organizations: Incorporated Entities. In 2007, the New Hampshire Bar Association recognized Anikó with the Paralegal Professionalism Award. From 2010 to 2011, she served as President and Chairman of the Paralegal Association of New Hampshire (PANH), and currently, Anikó serves as PANH’s Director at Large and Bar Liaison. Anikó is a member of NALA, the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA), and PANH, and also serves as a Notary Public for the State of New Hampshire.
