Attorneys Shiva Karimi and Vineesha Sow will be part of a event entitled, “Making Connections and Networking in the Legal Field,” on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 sponsored by the Boston Bar Association’s Women of Color Attorneys Leadership Forum. Shiva will moderate the panel and will lead a discussion on not only the significance of making connections and networking, but also provide some tips for making meaningful networking connections. Shiva is chair of the firm’s Immigration Law Practice Group, and managing director of the firm’s Boston office. She develops creative strategies for navigating the complex U.S. immigration system. She advises businesses on hiring key personnel, structuring global entities to facilitate talent mobility, and addressing immigration compliance issues, representing clients across a range of industries including staffing, technology, healthcare, independent schools, and start-ups. Vineesha focuses her practice on employment and education matters. She has extensive experience advising higher education institutions, public school districts, and independent schools in a full-spectrum of areas, including but not limited to student- and parent-related issues, disciplinary matters, special education and civil rights. Vineesha also has extensive experience representing education institutions in matters before the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights, and the Division of Administrative Law Appeals in MA. In the context of employment, Vineesha advises clients on a range of employment matters such as separation agreements, terminations, discrimination/harassment, and she has significant experience conducting workplace investigations. Vineesha has represented a range of clients in arbitrations, collective bargaining and before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
