Adam Hamel and Susan Schorr to Present at Cannabis Conference in Boston

McLane Middleton attorneys Adam M. Hamel and Susan E. Schorr will be presenting at Mass Lawyers Weekly’s Cannabis Conference on September 12, 2019 in Boston.

Adam and Susan’s presentation, “Managing Cannabis in the Workplace,” will discuss pre-employment and reasonable suspicion drug testing, updates to employee and student handbook policies, accommodation for disabled employees and students who use medical marijuana, use of other cannabis products like cannabidiol (CBD), and the intersection between state and federal law on this issue.  They will also review proposed legislation that aims to protect employees for off-duty cannabis use.

Adam is the Vice-Chair of McLane Middleton’s Employment Law Practice Group.  He assists employers with a variety of litigated and non-litigated employment law issues including charges of discrimination, wrongful termination, violation of restrictive covenants, wage and hour issues, among others.  Adam has been assisting Massachusetts and New Hampshire employers address the implications of state and federal marijuana laws on their workplace practices and policies.
