February 15, 2010, Manchester, NH: The law firm of McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton, Professional Association, with offices in Manchester, Portsmouth, and Concord, as well as Woburn, Massachusetts is pleased to announce that Jennifer Parent has been presented with this year’s Judge Philip S. Hollman Gender Equality Award by the New Hampshire Bar Association at its MidWinter Meeting. The award is granted to an individual who promotes gender equality throughout the legal system.
Jennifer is a member of the Firm’s Litigation Department and its Employment, Business, and Land Use Practice Groups. Her practice involves representation of large and small companies in business and employment disputes. Her practice also includes representation of landowners whose property has been taken by eminent domain.
Among her many contributions to gender equality both within and outside the firm, Jennifer was a founding member of the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association and served successive terms as Secretary, Vice President, and President of the organization. As the current vice president and incoming President-elect of the New Hampshire Bar Association, she will have the exceptional and unique distinction of having served both as President of the NH Women’s Bar Association as well as the NH Bar Association. She is also a former recipient of the Trailblazer in the Law award, the Robert Kirby award, and was named a “Forty Under 40” Business Leader by the Manchester Union Leader.
Jennifer serves on the Board of Opera New Hampshire as Secretary. As president of the New Hampshire Alumni of Suffolk University Law School, Jennifer helped found the organization’s first loan assistance program for Suffolk law graduates who practice in NH’s public sector helping the disadvantaged. She also serves on Suffolk’s Dean’s Advisory Committee.
She is admitted to practice in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
