This networking series features successful women sharing their stories with other business owners and executives. Carolyn Jones, Market President and Publisher of the Boston Business Journal (BBJ), will join McLane Middleton attorney Kim Kramer for an in-depth conversation about her deep passion for the publishing industry and the dynamic changes it has undergone. Carolyn will reflect on her journey and the invaluable experiences that have shaped her career as she ascended from her humble beginnings at a small publication to become the BBJ’s publisher.
Presenters

Kim is Managing Director of McLane Middleton’s Woburn office. She represents entrepreneurs, closely held and family-owned businesses in transactional matters ranging from entity selection and formation to drafting and negotiation of shareholder and operating agreements and other complex contracts including distribution, joint venture, and licensing agreements. She is experienced in asset and stock sales including the successful transfer of ownership to third parties, the next generation, and key employees. She also represents companies in convertible debt, private equity, and venture financing transactions.

Carolyn Jones is the Market President and Publisher of the Boston Business Journal – the website bostonbusinessjournal.com as well as the weekly edition. In this capacity, she is responsible for overall operations, including advertising, audience development, news, internet activities, programs and events and achieving revenue and profit goals. She also oversees BBj affiliate BostInno, the innovation and tech news source and is also Publisher of the digital publication, Providence Business First – covering the Providence RI business community.
Prior to becoming publisher at the BBJ in November of 2015, Ms. Jones had been the publisher of the Albany Business Review, in Albany NY, and was in that role since 1998. The Business Review is a sister publication of the BBJ, both owned by American City Business Journals, which owns 43 business journals across the country.
Carolyn is on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Mass Bay, advisory board member of Center for Women & Enterprise and a member of the Massachusetts Women’s Forum.
