McLane Middleton attorney Audrey G. Young will be presenting at the Chicago Estate Planning Council’s upcoming workshop on “The Best Defense is a Good Offense: Effective Preparation of Forms 709 and 706” on June 15, 2021.
The presentation will provide guidance on reporting the latest estate planning techniques including defined value clauses, SLATs, gift splitting, and transfers of insurance policies. The 706 portion of the presentation will address topics such as how to optimize portability, solve sticky valuation issues involving family business and legacy assets, and report intra-family notes. The presenters will include updates gleaned from Office of Appeals negotiations, including the IRS’s aggressive application of Section 2703.
Audrey is Of Counsel in McLane Middleton’s Trusts & Estates Department. She concentrates her practice on estate planning, representing business owners, family offices and corporate fiduciaries. She counsels business owners on tax, retirement and succession planning as well as trust and estate administration.. Audrey frequently represents clients in tax controversy matters and is a member of the United States Tax Court.
