Chris Paul and Jon Steffensen to Present at Upcoming MCLE Event

McLane Middleton attorneys Christopher R. Paul and Jon E. Steffensen will be participating in an upcoming MCLE panel discussion on the topic of “What Every Estate Planner Needs to Know About the Laws of Other New England States & Florida.”

The session, which will take place on March 6, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the MCLE Conference Center in Boston, will count for three CLE (substantive) credits.  The session will also available as a webcast.

The presentation will address the estate tax regimens and important laws of each New England state and laws in Florida that bear on your seasonal residents of Florida as well as those who may want to adopt a Florida domicile. Knowledge of these jurisdictions is crucial for an estate planner here in Massachusetts who may have clients with real property located in those jurisdictions, and in the case of Florida, who may have clients who either spend winter there or who may be considering a change of domicile to the sunshine state.

Jon will be the moderator for the session and Chris will serve as a member of the panel.

Chris is a director and vice chair of McLane Middleton’s Trusts and Estates Department.  He concentrates his practice on trust, estate, income, and transfer tax planning for families and individuals including advising clients in business succession planning, wealth preservation, asset protection, and charitable giving.  Chris also represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in trust and estate administration.  Chris can be reached in the firm’s Manchester office at (603) 628-1335 or christopher.paul@mclane.com.
