John Rich to Present at Annual Kidder Educational Law Conference

McLane Middleton attorney John E. Rich, Jr. will be presenting at the Annual Bradley F. Kidder Educational Law Conference on October 2, 2019 in Concord, N.H.

This workshop is sponsored annually by the New Hampshire School Administrators Association (NHSAA), the New Hampshire Council of School Attorneys (NHCOSA), and the New Hampshire School Boards Association (NHSBA).

As part of the Conference, New Hampshire’s top school attorneys will highlight new developments in school law on the topics of new laws, collective bargaining, privacy, use of media, school finance, personnel, special education, and more.

John’s presentation, “An Update on Section 403(b) Retirement Plans,” will discuss recent developments in Section 403(b) retirement plans including what employers need to know in connection with the 2020 plan document amendment deadline.

John is a director and chair of McLane Middleton’s Tax Department.  He advises clients regarding compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, COBRA, HIPAA and other complex federal laws applicable to employee benefit plans.  He frequently represents clients before the IRS and United States Department of Labor in audits and investigations and represents clients in litigation involving employee benefit plans.  John provides advice to employers regarding all forms of executive compensation and health and welfare plans.  He also advises executives concerning stock options, compensation issues and estate planning involving IRAs and retirement benefits.  John can be reached in the firm’s Manchester office at (603) 628-1438 or john.rich@mclane.com.
