The guidelines, which were written exclusively for members of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), includes detailed guidance as well as numerous sample forms and checklists for schools to use to strengthen their hiring process. Jada Hebra, Vice Rector for Faculty at St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire provided input on the book regarding the practical side of the hiring process and shared some of the hiring process templates used by St. Paul’s School. Linda is a director and co-chair of the firm’s Education Law Group. She serves as outside general counsel for numerous independent schools as well as the largest independent academy in the United States. She is recognized as a national authority on student and campus safety issues, risk management, boundary awareness, crisis response, employment law and independent school law issues. She has over 30 years of experience litigating cases in state and federal agencies and courts, and in representing the interests of management in all aspects of labor and employment law. From start-up school issues to governance, faculty and student concerns, Linda assists numerous independent elementary, high schools and colleges in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of a school. She assists with staff training, reporting obligations, state and federal compliance for schools, and board of trustee training. In addition, Linda has developed trainings in the areas of harassment, hazing, bullying, safe school zone, abuse reporting obligations and maintain safe boundaries with students.
