McLane Middleton Achieves Mansfield Rule Certification for Second Consecutive Year

Manchester, N.H. (October 2, 2024) – The law firm of McLane Middleton is proud to announce that, for the second year in a row, it has achieved certification under the Mansfield Rule, the leading national certification for law firms committed to diversity in their workforce and leadership. In 2023, McLane Middleton became the first law firm in New Hampshire to receive the certification.

The Mansfield Rule is a national initiative that seeks to help close the gender and diversity gap in the legal profession. Mansfield is a year-long, structured certification process that is designed to help ensure that all professionals in the firm have an equal opportunity to advance into leadership positions. The focus is on ensuring that opportunities for advancement are transparent and inclusive for everyone. Data shows that firms that remain committed and accountable to the Mansfield Certification process year-over-year make substantial progress in diversifying their professional ranks, including in leadership positions.

“One of McLane Middleton’s core values is the belief that diversity, equity and inclusion in our workforce makes us a stronger law firm by enhancing our capacity to develop innovative solutions for our clients and attracting and retaining the most talented colleagues,” said Steve Camerino, CEO of McLane Middleton.  “Achieving Mansfield Certification reflects our commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace where all of our colleagues can achieve their full potential, and we can develop a workforce that will provide the most effective representation for our clients.”

Shiva Karimi, Managing Director of McLane Middleton’s Boston office and Chair of the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, expressed the significance of the firm’s achieving certification for another year: “As we enter our third year working towards and under Mansfield Rule certification, the firm will continue to expand and manage its talent pipeline, work harder to create a more diverse and equitable legal profession, as well as foster an environment where everyone feels respected and is treated fairly.”
