Manchester, N.H., Woburn, Mass. (March 5, 2025) – The law firm of McLane Middleton is pleased to announce its annual award winners – Wilbur A. Glahn (Jack B. Middleton Pro Bono Award), Stacey S. Elliot (John A. Graf Client Service Award), and Jeremy T. Walker (John R. McLane Jr. Community Service Award).
The awards were presented at the firm’s recent Colleague Recognition Reception, which recognizes colleagues with service anniversaries the prior year.
Bill Glahn was the recipient of the 19th annual Jack B. Middleton Pro Bono Legal Services Award for his outstanding commitment to providing legal counsel to those who need but cannot afford it. McLane Middleton created this award in support of its efforts to help ensure that all New Hampshire residents, regardless of resources, have access to the justice system. The award is named after Jack Middleton who has insisted over his storied career that lawyers have an ethical duty to provide legal services to those in need without regard to the ability to pay. Since the firm’s inception over a century ago, McLane Middleton has been a consistent leader in supporting the state’s most vulnerable. The firm’s commitment to providing pro bono legal services has continued as it has expanded its footprint into Massachusetts.
“Bill is a recognized leader of Pro Bono work in the firm and in the state of New Hampshire. His focus this year was in helping victims of domestic violence, while also advocating for the best interests of children in the state’s foster program,” said Andrew R. Hamilton, a director in McLane Middleton’s Litigation Department and chair of the Pro Bono Committee. “He exemplifies the true spirit of this award with his long-standing commitment to pro bono work.”
Bill has practiced at the firm for more than 40 years. His practice focuses on corporate and administrative litigation, including environmental issues, contract disputes, corporate governance, shareholder disputes, and tax litigation. He can be reached in the firm’s Manchester office at (603) 628-1469 or bill.glahn@mclane.com.
Stacey Elliot was the recipient of the firm’s annual John A. Graf Client Service Award. The award is named in honor of a former partner in the firm who was relentlessly focused on solving his clients’ problems. The award is provided annually to the McLane Middleton attorney, paralegal, or administrative colleague(s) who exemplifies the highest level of client responsiveness and excellence in service based on colleague observations, peer reviews, and client recommendations.
“Stacey is fully committed to delivering exceptional client service with a dedicated and results-driven mindset,” said Laura B. Dodge, a director in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group and Chair of the firm’s Client Service Committee. “Stacey’s colleagues unanimously agree that she consistently goes the extra mile to assist in any way necessary, ensuring clients receive top-tier service,” added Phil Tizzano, a member of the firm’s Trusts & Estate Practice Group and Vice Chair of the Client Service Committee.
Stacey is a paralegal in the firm’s Corporate Department and assists the corporate attorneys with a variety of matters including entity formation, organization, administration, corporate governance and corporate transactions. Jeremy Walker was the recipient of the firm’s John R. McLane, Jr. Community Service Award. This annual award is given to the McLane Middleton attorney, paralegal, or administrative colleague who exemplifies the highest commitment to the community based on colleague observations and peer reviews. The award is named after former partner, John R. McLane, Jr., who had a long history serving the community.
“Jeremy has been dedicated to the Granite YMCA for over two decades. As the current Chief Volunteer Officer, he plays a key role in leading one of Manchester’s longest-standing non-profits and the largest YMCA association in Northern New England. His impact is defined not just by the length of his service, but by the strength of his leadership,” said John E. Hughes, a director in McLane Middleton’s Trusts & Estates Department and co-chair of the firm’s Community Service Committee. “What’s most inspiring about Jeremy is how he brings the same level of dedication and thoughtfulness to his volunteer work as he does to his clients and colleagues.”
